Óscar Mosquera
Óscar Mosquera is a Colombian guitarist, composer, and improviser based in Munich, Germany.
Starting his musical path with classical guitar at a young age, he decided to switch to the electric guitar in his early teens. After he finished school he started to study electric guitar in his hometown Bogotá but decided after a couple of years to expand his frontiers and move to Germany to study jazz guitar with Frank Kuruc at the Conservatory Mannheim, receiving his bachelor degree in 2020.
In 2021 he moved to Munich to study his master in Jazz Composition with Christian Elsässer and Gregor Hübner at the Conservatory Munich, receiving his master degree in 2023.
Óscar’s musical career as a guitarist has been defined by a fearless exploration of sound and an unrelenting drive to push boundaries. From the beginning, He was drawn to the fringes of music, where structure is fluid and expression is limitless. Influenced by avant-garde pioneers, the chaotic beauty of noise, and the improvisational spirit of jazz, his playing quickly moved beyond conventional limits.
He has work with different projects als Guitarist and Composer such like Three and a Half, Carambolo, MCC (Munich Composer Collective), Tetra Brass and Gabriele Mauer Quintett.
